Preparing You for Your Value Based Healthcare Career 2016
December 8th, 2016
Fee-for-service has been the predominant payment system in the healthcare
sector for decades, rewarding providers for greater productivity irrespective
of their clinical outcomes. But times are changing, rapidly, and a new
value-based healthcare market is fortunately emerging. A transformational
shift away from contingent, volume-based payments to alternative reimbursement
models linking compensation to quality outcomes is now underway. As such,
seismic changes in the business of healthcare are expected. Physicians
entering practice will be confronted with this new paradigm.
The Hoag Orthopedics, in partnership with the Connecticut Joint Replacement
Institute at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center (Hartford, Connecticut),
and Dell Medical School (Austin, Texas) were pleased to present this educational
course for Medical Students and Senior Residents and Fellows in training.
This course was designed to expose physicians about to enter this new
marketplace to the principles of the healthcare value equation and some
of the essential tools necessary to thrive in their careers.
