Back to Play
Hoag Orthopedics has created a unique career exposure program. Back to
Play is a theatrical reenactment that follows an athlete from their injury
through diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation, and introduces a variety
of healthcare careers to students. The event gives students a peek into
what a normal patient interaction might look like, experience mentor moments
from each professional, witness a mock surgery, and participate in a Q&A
discussion panel. Back to Play exposes students to a multitude of career
paths, from certification and vocational schooling, to medical school
and beyond.
Since 2017 we have been able to host 540 high school students from across
LA and Orange counties. If your classroom or school is interested in attending
one of these philanthropically supported events, please reach out to Vanessa
Glotzbach, Senior Programs Manager at 949-679-8546 or
