Dave Johnson is the author of the recently-published
Market vs. Medicine: America’s Epic Fight for Better, Affordable
Healthcare and the influential
Market Corner Commentaries distributed weekly to a large and diverse readership. He's also the
author-in-residence at the Health Management Academy, the nation’s
leading convener of integrated health companies and MATTER, the nation’s
largest healthcare incubator.
After a dynamic 25-year investment banking career in healthcare markets,
Dave Johnson launched 4sight Health in 2014 to advance market-based reform.
4sight Health operates at the intersection of healthcare economics, strategy
and capital formation. Dave is also an inaugural member of Harvard’s
Health Policy Leadership Council and collaborates with Cain Brothers,
a pre-eminent healthcare investment bank. These activities keep him close
to the market and engaged with entrepreneurs reinventing U.S. Healthcare.
Dave earned an AB in English Literature from Colgate University and a Master’s
Degree in Public Policy from Harvard University. He was a Language Arts
Peace Corps Volunteer in Liberia, West Africa where he taught grammar,
literature and math to very large (100+ students) classes, coached a championship
soccer team and survived a coup d’état. Today, he is a voluminous
reader, speaker and writer with expertise in health policy, economics,
statistics, behavioral finance, disruptive innovation, organizational
change and complexity theory advises.
Through his writing, speaking, consulting and advising, Dave Johnson wakes
up every morning intent on fixing America’s broken healthcare system.
Like Cleveland Clinic’s CEO Toby Cosgrove, Dave believes “the
state of our nation depends on the state of our health.
